Here is a great piece of Christmas horror from the Netherlands. “Sint” from 2010 (or “Saint Nick” as the American release is called) has to be one of the most fun Christmas horror films to come out in recent years.
You know who St. Nicholas right? The man who inspired Santa Claus. Well imagine him as a murderous bishop. He and his gang were killed by villagers in 1492. However whenever there is a full moon on December 5, the ghosts of St. Nicholas and his crew return, hellbent on murder and rampage.
If you have heard about this foreign horror film then you’ve more then likely heard of just how fun it is. The movie rolls at a fast pace with many incredibly fun scenes, particularly the scene with St. Nicholas riding his horse on the roof tops of Amsterdam with the Police chasing him. There are many fun, gory death scenes with St. Nicholas and his Zombie henchmen and the whole tone really echoes back to the incredibly fun horror films of the 1980’s.
You owe it to yourself to watch this Roller Coaster ride of a Christmas Horror film. Seek out “Sint” immediately.
